PRIORITY ACCESS TO SUBSTANCE USE TREATMENT
Cheyenne Center provides preference for admission to individuals who meet Federal or State Priority Population criteria.
PRIORITY POPULATIONS & ADMISSION TIMELINES
- Pregnant individuals who inject drugs
Admission: Within 48 hours - Pregnant individuals who use substances
Admission: Within 48 hours - Individuals who inject drugs
Admission: Within 14 calendar days - Individuals identified as being at high risk for overdose
Admission: Within 72 hours - Individuals referred by the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS)
Admission: Within 72 hours - Individuals experiencing housing instability or homelessness
Admission: Within 72 hours
IF TREATMENT IS NOT IMMEDIATELY AVAILABLE
Cheyenne Center will assist eligible individuals with referral and placement in another appropriate treatment program when possible.
Individuals awaiting admission may also receive Interim Services and assistance accessing appropriate resources, including:
- HIV risk-reduction counseling and HIV testing
- Tuberculosis (TB) screening and treatment
- Prenatal care for pregnant individuals
- Substance use and health-risk education
- Recovery and community support services
- Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), peer recovery support, and other recovery resources
Individuals placed on the treatment waitlist will receive ongoing contact and assistance while awaiting admission.

Priority status will be identified during the screening and admission process. Cheyenne Center will assist individuals in accessing the appropriate level of substance use treatment as quickly as possible.
